Relocating the Sports Franchise to Hamilton
Today's comic strip is a public service announcement from me to you, the steady Small Market Sports reader, who've wondered if I've survived my move from Montreal to Hamilton. Well, voila! I'm moved and settling into downtown Hammer City.
To say it went smoothly, as Carter mentions in today's sports cartoon, would be completely incorrect. We didn't have Internet access for two weeks, one of my cats nearly died (we had to leave her at the vet in Montreal during the move, and get her a few days later), and U-Haul decided the day before our move that they wouldn't have a truck available. Mercifully, the good people at Penske saved the day for us at the very last minute. And to top it all off, the Montreal Canadiens were eliminated from the Stanley Cup playoffs by the Philadelphia Flyers on the day of our move. I, of course, missed the entire hockey game because we were driving between cities at the time and moving our stuff into the new apartment.
I've already got a few football games circled on my calendar for this year but I am most looking forward to the Alouettes versus the Tiger-Cats in October, and the start of the AHL season to see a couple of Hamilton Bulldogs games.
