About Small Market Sports

The Comic Strip

With a cast of cartoon characters made up of personified sports equipment, Small Market Sports is a comic strip that gives a humourous look at the current sports headlines, rumours, and controversies surrounding big league sports and the sports personalities who are caught in the middle of it all.

Now published 3 times a week online (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) and is available weekly to newspapers.

The Cartoonist

Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, I first created Small Market Sports in 2002 (then called Montreal Voices) in heartbroken reaction to Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig announcing plans to contract of the Minnesota Twins and my beloved Montreal Expos.

With a cast of one (Carter the Baseball) I began voicing my distaste over the thought of losing my ability to root for my home team in the occasional comic strip. It didn't take long to realize that making sports comics was in my blood (or at least in my heart... I was never actually tested for the sports cartooning virus) and I began to branch out with new characters poking fun of other pro sports.

In addition to Small Market Sports, I am also the creator of the single panel comic Voices in my Hand, and independently published the now defunct bimonthly webcomic newspaper, Zoinks! Magazine.

My favourite sports teams are the Montreal Canadiens, the Montreal Alouettes, The Montreal Expos, the Carolina Panthers, and I quietly root for anyone who plays against the Washington Nationals.

I currently live in London, Ontario, home of the OHL's London Knights.
