Guest comic #2 - Resetting the Scoreboard!

Today's guest comic strip was generously provided by cartoonist David Buist of the always hilarious comic strip Taking the Bypass (Dave's a Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays fan but we don't hold it against him.) Like Antoine's guest comic, it was originally intended for use in the postponed Small Market Sports book last fall.

I absolutely adore the expression on Carter's face in the first and last panels of the comic! :)

Be sure to head on over to Dave' site and check out the guest comic strip I drew for Taking the Bypass last year too!

It's a boy...!

Well, the wait is over... I'm officially a proud father!

My son (future all-star goaltender for the Montreal Canadiens AND starting quarterback for the Carolina Panthers) was born eight minutes after midnight on September 5, 2010 weighing in at 6 lbs 13 oz, 19 inches long, and with a full head of hair. He's the very definition of awesome! Next week the comic-version of his birth announcement will be appearing here on the site, but until then, I have a few phenomenal Small Market Sports comic strips to post online that were generously created by some pure awesome cartoonists to help me pick up the slack while I adjust to this whole parenthood thing.

Today's guest comic (that I meant to post yesterday, but we were beat from getting back from the hospital) was drawn by the very talented Antoine Gagnon, creator the comic strip The Drunken Fools. It was originally intended for use in the first Small Market Sports book but that project was put on hold while I saved money for unforseen baby needs (and holy WOW! are they plentiful!) It is a treat to see how other artists approach the characters - and in Antoine's case he even created a new one! :)
