Judge to Hamilton and Balsillie: DENIED!

Having spent most of my life in Montreal, then having lived in Hamilton, Ontario last year and currently only 60-90 minutes away in London Ontario... I was all for the idea of moving the Phoenix Coyotes to Hamilton. Part of me considered it payback for the Expos moving the Washington D.C. to become the most loser team in baseball (ha!), but mostly I was just jazzed that I'd be able to root for a local team (unless they were playing the Montreal Canadiens, of course).

Well, it looks like that won't be happening any time soon as a judge has rejected the sale of the Phoenix Coyotes to Jim Balsillie who planned to move the team to Hamilton. While Balsillie may have gone about things the wrong way, you can't deny he'd make it work in southern Ontario. At least it couldn't be any worse than the fiasco of an NHL team in Phoenix. Anyway... today's comic strip pretty much voices my opinion and feelings towards Gary Bettman on the whole turn of events.

Who Let the Dogs Drown?

Disgraced Atlanta Falcons' QB Michael Vick was recently released from prison, where he was serving time for his part in a whole mess of illegal dogfighting, and will be spending the remainder of his sentence under house arrest... and was the inspiration for today's Small Market Sports comic.

Don't forget, you can keep up with what I'm doing on Twitter and check out my weekly fan art on Small Weird Voices, which will also serve as the site for my upcoming new comic strip!
